William Kiwele

William is the General Manager of Nyiragongo Company Sarl, He oversees field operations, workforce coordination, and the execution of critical services that support both the development and optimization of mining projects. Under his leadership, Nyiragongo works alongside mine owners and operators to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operations—providing services such as production drilling and blasting, engineering support, infrastructure development, and mineral transport. William is known for his practical, solutions-oriented leadership and his ability to bring structure, accountability, and operational discipline to complex project environments.

Before joining Nyiragongo, William held a variety of senior roles across government and private industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo, each of which helped shape his strong operational and administrative acumen.

As a Foreign Investment Advisor to the Province of Tanganyika, he played a strategic role in facilitating cross-border partnerships, identifying infrastructure investment opportunities, and aligning foreign capital with regional development goals. In this role, he served as a critical link between public-sector leadership and international investors, helping to position Tanganyika as a viable destination for mining and infrastructure development.

At the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and SMEs, William served as Information Systems Administrator, where he worked closely with senior ministry officials and department heads to modernize digital infrastructure, streamline communication systems, and ensure continuity of operations across economic development initiatives. His contributions supported both industrial policy implementation and administrative modernization.

In the private sector, William led IT operations at IBC SARL (International Business Center), where he managed hardware and software systems, oversaw network reliability, and ensured secure telecommunications with external partners. His role was critical in maintaining connectivity and IT uptime for a firm that served international clients and operated across multiple regions.

In parallel with his technical and government roles, William also served as Secretary General of DPIBANAT (Synergie des Pionniers Bâtisseurs des Nations), a national civic organization where he coordinated country-wide development and outreach programs. This experience honed his ability to manage teams, engage with diverse stakeholders, and lead field operations in challenging environments.

William holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Business Management from the National Research University of Samara in Russia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics and Information Systems Engineering from the Protestant University of Lubumbashi. He is fluent in French and Swahili, and proficient in English and Russian, making him highly effective in cross-border, multilingual project environments.

With a rare blend of public sector insight, technical systems expertise, and operational leadership, William brings the steady hand and adaptive mindset needed to lead mining service operations across Africa.
